ONE HUNDRED PERCENT

Created and original story by Benjamin Sumrie

Written by Benjamin Sumrie, Marco Biasioli, and Liam Grogan

SYNOPSIS

In a claustrophobic studio apartment, an embittered failed actor confronts the examiner who once gave him a perfect score in an acting exam - a moment which, the actor believes, destined him for greatness. As tea turns to tension, years of suppressed rage unravel in an unsettling psychological showdown that spirals into obsession, shattered dreams, and a desperate bid for catharsis. Both must now face the devastating consequences of misplaced hope, harsh truths, and lives derailed by ambition in this darkly comedic exploration of artistry, identity, and the human need for validation.

'A really really strong piece of theatre - proper drama and superb writing. A breath of fresh air! Absolutely fantastic!

Szilvi Naray, Author of Difficult Women and founder of Ignition Stage Theatre

'Precarious Theatre successfully did what they set out to do. This play is both uncomfortably claustrophobic and darkly comedic and I’m very interested in seeing what this company does next.'

A Youngish Perspective

'A tense two-hander that probes the uneasy dynamic between recognition and resentment through its blend of absurdity and menace.'

Jane Darcy, The Reviews Hub

'Izzo is superb as an initially wary, then unnerved theatrical adjudicator who finds herself in a situation of escalating fear and alarm.'

LondonTheatre1

'The dark, cynical approach and high-quality performances make One Hundred Percent absorbing and entirely entertaining.'

LIAM GROGAN

Director / Writer / Producer

Liam is a Bristol born director and composer and a founding member of Precarious Theatre. Involved in all aspects of theatre from a young age, his directorial debut came with Precarious and Marco Biasioli's Failure Studies at the GM Fringe in 2021. One Hundred Percent is his fourth show with Precarious and the second he has contributed to as a writer. As an artist, Liam finds the basis of innovation in fun and honest collaboration and seeks to access the humanity of theatrical work, embracing the complex and the absurd, to draw out that which can speak to an audience in compelling and engaging ways.
